Abstract
Aporia, as a tool for generating doubt and eliminating certainty and assurance from concepts, has had vatious functions in philosophy and literature from ancient Greece to postmodernism. This study is based on the principles of relativity and uncertainty. creation of aporetic situations characterized by doubt through postmodern narratives provides suitable framework for reflecting multiple meanings. Employing a descriptive-analytical method, research analyzes data in three sections: aporetic state, the paradox of indecision, and confusion, with a focus on the short story collection “Divan-e Somanat.” The aim is to introduce the concept of aporia as an appropriate tool for analyzing postmodern works. The analysis results indicate that the paradoxical state in these stories manifests in three forms: identity crisis, existential presence, and text versus text. The state of indecision or doubt is expressed through truth, the duality of multiple endings, and ambiguity in recognizing the narrator. Additionally, confusion appears through the potential for multiple readings, rebellious characters, and temporal disturbances within the narratives.
